Heavy Duty Snow Plow
Every since I've seen Desert Eagle's snow plow, I've really wanted to build it. Unfortunately no instructions were available, so I decided to recreate the model from the presentation video (after asking). Of course everything inside is not visible so I redesigned it all. I've also improved sturdiness in various places, reduced the number of motors from 13 to 8, and replaced or removed most non-Technic parts.
This is an advanced model and the assembly of some of the sub-modules is challenging.
I spent months on the design, and then again as much on making the instructions. Making instructions for this was such a daunting task, for the first time, I considered not doing any.
All original features are preserved: (see video at the end - very shaky, sorry about that)
- 4-track drive
- mid-section steering
- rear pendular suspension
- raise/lower plow
- raise/lower crane
- deploy & extend crane arm
- steering wheel turns along with steering
- openable door & side-cover
Plus additionally:
- the roof can now be opened
- flood light LEDs
- the top orange warning lights light up when the crane base is operated
- an optional PF flashing module to make the above flash instead of just light up
Parts not listed in the inventory:
- Mould King 6-port battery box (can now be bought from Amazon)
- CaDA PF LED set (can be bought from CaDA's webside)
- 8 metal universal joints (from CaDA or other manufacturers)
Stickers:
- mirror stickers from 42054-1
- 2x 'Technic' sticker from 42024-1
Note that the single battery box is just barely enough to drive such a heavy model. It only works decently when the battery is full.
